Sold
Sold. This piece was a single object and it has gone. The drawing is older than the rug — ask what else carries it.
A field designed to be read horizontally rather than in depth: stacked bands of color, each anchoring its own repeating geometric figure along the length of the rug. Rooted in the functional heritage of nomadic tent weavings—where each stripe was both structure and ornament—this collection translates utilitarian craft into a striking, rhythmic foundation for contemporary spaces. Hand-knotted from pure wool and botanical dyes.

- Technique
- Hand-knottedEvery knot is tied around the warp threads by hand and cut; the cut ends are the pile. It is the slowest of these and the only one that can hold a curve.
- Material
- Wool on woolWool pile on a wool foundation — warp, weft and pile all one fibre. The oldest construction and the one that gives underfoot.
- Dye
- Natural dyesColour from plants and minerals — madder, indigo, walnut, pomegranate. Each dye lot differs slightly, and that difference is what abrash is.

Return
If it is not right, tell us — the refund and return policy is written out in full.
Rotate it once or twice a year so light and footfall land evenly. Vacuum without a beater bar, in the direction of the pile. Blot a spill, never rub it. Anything more than that is a job for a specialist rug cleaner, and we will help you find one.

The descent
Where the drawing comes from.
This is weaving that belongs to a household that moved. The loom was staked to the ground beside the tent and struck when the camp was, so the work went forward in courses and the drawing grew a band at a time. Its descent runs through families rather than through towns, and it is still handed on that way.

Good to know
Size, colour, carriage, and what one of one means.
The six answers a buyer wants before a rug of this value leaves İstanbul. Anything else, ask — a person reads it.
Every question, answeredWhen does it leave, and when does it arrive?
It is dispatched from İstanbul within one to two business days of your order and travels by air courier — at your door within three to five days of dispatch, customs permitting. We write with the carrier and the tracking number on the day it leaves.
Will the colour be exactly what I see in the photographs?
Close, and never quite even. Hand-dyed wool shifts a little across a field rather than holding one flat tone, and where the dye is a natural one that shift has a name — abrash. It is evidence of how the colour was made rather than a fault in it. Every piece page names its dye and says what that dye does, so you can read what you are looking at.
Can I send it back?
Fourteen days from delivery. No reason is required and none will be asked for. Write to us and we book the collection with the same courier; return carriage is at your cost, and the refund goes to the card you paid with, in full, once the piece is back with us.
What does one of one mean here?
The rug in the photographs is the rug that arrives, with its own reference, its own measurements and its own irregularities. The drawing is older and is shared — a piece carrying it may have been woven at another size. Ask, and we will say what there is.
How do I choose the right size?
Measure the seating group rather than the room — a rug wants at least the front feet of the seating standing on it. Every piece is listed at its exact size, in the system you measure in, so you can hold those figures against the floor you have. Under a dining table, allow for the chairs drawn back; beside a bed, let the rug run out where feet actually land.
What if nothing listed fits the room?
A rug can be made. Tell us the room, the size and what it has to live with, and we will say what is possible and what it would cost before anything is begun. A commissioned piece is made for you and cannot be returned.
