One loom, one drawing, one rug
ANATOLIAN keeps a register of one-of-one rugs. The weaving is Turkmen, in the north of Afghanistan; the keeping — selection, documentation, dispatch — is İstanbul's.
The looms
2,500 Turkmen families work these looms across northern Afghanistan.
Each piece is months of one person's work at one loom, from one drawing. The drawing is older than the rug and is shared, so a piece carrying it may exist at another size; the rug itself is a single object, and the one in the photographs is the one that arrives.
İstanbul
İstanbul weaves nothing. It is where every piece is selected, documented, certified and shipped.
Every piece enters the register there — measured, photographed, given its TAR reference — and is set aside until it sells.
The register
Every piece is listed at its exact size, with its origin, tradition, technique, material and dye on the record, and the register reads by room, by size, by collection or by tradition. Answer a few questions and it answers back with the pieces that match.
New, and saying so
Everything in the register is new production. Nothing here is antique and nothing pretends to be: each piece leaves Türkiye with its own attestation to exactly that.
One of each
A rug in this register is a single physical object. When it sells, it leaves the shop; it cannot be reordered, and a sold piece stays on record as sold.
Two more doors
If nothing in the register is the one, a rug can be made at your measurements from a drawing in the archive; we say what is possible and what it would cost before anything is begun. And for architects, interior designers and studios there is a programme: apply, a person reads it, and the terms come in writing.

İstanbul is the house: every piece is dispatched from here, and a person answers from here — on WhatsApp, by email, or at the door by arrangement.
